I have a group of entrepreneurs who I mentor on marketing and when I met with them last week the fact that they got so much out of the following story really made me want to share it with you it’s about the Chinese bamboo tree.

You plant a little seed, you water it, and fertilize it for a whole year, and nothing happens.

The second year you water it and you fertilize it, you nurture it and nothing happens.

The third year you water it and fertilise it, and nothing happens. How discouraging this becomes!

The fourth year you water it and fertilise it, and nothing happens. It can get very frustrating quite like marketing.

The fifth year you continue to water and fertilise the seed and then, sometime during the fifth year, the Chinese bamboo tree spouts and grows NINETY FEET IN SIX WEEK

Marketing is much like to the growing process of the Chinese bamboo tree.

It is often discouraging. We seemingly do things right, and nothing happens

But for those who do things right and are not discouraged and are persistent, things will happen.

Finally we begin to receive the rewards.
